NSI, the National Security Inspectorate, provides accreditation to the UK security and fire industries. Our mission is to raise standards in the security and fire industries in the interests of the customer. For the security industry, NSI accreditation guarantees the highest standards. NSI NACOSS approved companies provide intruder alarm installation and maintenance together with other electronic security systems. Using NSI NACOSS approved companies means that buyers can be sure of a security system that is correctly installed, properly maintained and certain of rapid response in the event of a burglary. NSI Guarding and Cash services certification covers manned security companies providing security guards and other security personnel. The accreditations cover: guarding and specialised security services, key holding and response services, safe deposit centres, security screening, immigration detention centres, private prisons, door supervisors CCTV monitoring, event stewarding and crowd safety and secure transportation of cash and valuables. For the fire industry, NSI provides accreditation to commercial fire protection companies. Fire safety law requires employers and others responsible for buildings to provide effective fire protection for staff and visitors. Additionally, it is likely that a fire risk assessment will demand a modern fire protection system. Using NSI approved companies can help to reduce insurance rates and ensure legal obligations are met.
